On May 15, 2014, within the Free International University of Moldova, took place the International Scientific-Practical Conference „Maintenance of family integrity – priority policy for child’s protection”, organized within the project „The family has priority – the child’s rights now!”, implemented by MRC Caritas Moldova with the support of Caritas Austria and the financial support of Austrian Cooperation for Development.
The event, dedicated to the Family’s Day, was attended by 150 participants of Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Austria, practitioners and academicians, social assistants, psychologists, managers and educators, master students and PhD students. Among the guests of honour were the Catholic Bishop of Chișinău Anton Coșa, the Minister of Labour, Social Protection and Family of Republic of Moldova Valentina Buliga, Head of ACD of the Austrian Embassy Gerhard Schaumberger, Valeriu Ghilețchi, Deputy of the Moldovan Parliament and Barbara Wolf of Caritas Vienna, Caritas Moldova partners of ”Aspern” Foundation of Kiev and Caritas Belarus.
The conference’s program included the plenary session and workshops, in which were discussed the promotion of family values and the problem of child’s protection. Representatives of different organizations, activating in the field of family and child protection, touched upon such subjects, as: the family’s value in the actual context, the spiritual education in the family, Caritas role in the consolidation of family, positive practices of social assistance domain, reforms in personnel training and many other subjects presented by the guests of Belarus, Ukraine, Romania and Austria.
Undoubtedly, the family is a major value, because this is the beginning of metamorphose each person passes, named personality. The education, moral and spiritual values of a family, influence both the family’s life and the entire society.
At the end of the conference there were presented the conclusions and recommendations of the workshops and the final declaration.
